Work on damage to Adomi Bridge to commence soon

Accra, May 30, GNA – Repair works on the Adomi Bridge, which was damaged by a taxi on May 6, would commence early next week, Mr Peter Dagadu, Director of Bridges at the Ghana Highway Authority (GHA), said on Wednesday.

According to media reports, the taxicab veered off its lane and hit the rails of the bridge when the driver was attracted to some tourists who were cruising on the Volta River.

Speaking to the GNA, Mr. Dagadu said the Authority was aware of the danger the damage posed to drivers, pedestrians and other road users and the authorities were working on fabricating the right sizes of the rails to be fixed.

He appealed to residents and road users to exercise patience as the GHA did a complete work on the bridge.
