Work on chapel for Anglican Church at Takoradi to begin

Takoradi, Feb. 2, GNA – Colonel John Kwamina Otoo (Rtd), Anglican Bishop of Sekondi-Takoradi Diocese has cut the sod for work to begin on a 450,000 Ghana cedis chapel for All Saints Anglican Church in Takoradi to replace the existing one built about 80 years ago. The 1,200 capacity chapel will have a conference room, special rooms for nursing mothers, washrooms, choir, alter servers and Ministers.

Bishop Otoo urged Christians to invest in activities of their churches, because most of them have the requisite potential to assist in accomplishing the mission and vision of the church. He said Christians must be bold and courageous, disciplined, respectful and God fearing in all their endeavours and not allow materialism override their interests and desire for God. Bishop Otoo urged members of the building committee to work hard and ensure the project was completed on schedule. Mr Harrison Akrofi, Chairman of the Project Committee said members of the congregation would raise funds to support the project. He said a special levy for the project was instituted about three years ago and the church council approved 40,000 Ghana cedis towards it. 02 Feb. 09
