Work begins on Amasaman Market Complex

The Greater Accra Regional Minister, Nii Laryea Afotey-Agbo, has cut the sod for work to begin on the Amasaman Market complex in the Ga West Municipality.

The project, estimated at GH¢ 900, 000.00, would be completed in 18 months. It is being funded from the District Development Fund.

According to Nii Afotey-Agbo, the projects would be developed in two phases.It would comprise108 shops, 16 large halls suitable for banking and restaurants, and more than 60 wash rooms.

The Regional Minister said the project would decongest the principal streets of the Amasaman and eliminate selling at unauthorized places, particularly, around the Hospital area and the Police station.

He advised all to rise up and change their attitudes towards the environment and take complete charge of our surroundings to prevent the needless deaths caused by cholera.

Mr. Ato Kwei Quaye, Ga West Municipal Chief Executive, asked the market women to cooperate with the Assembly to keep their interior and exterior environments clean at all times.
