Women told to help maintain peace.

Takoradi, May 03, GNA – Women have been told to use their “natural gifts” as lovers of peace and harmony, to influence all decisions and activities of the various religious, political parties and institutions to ensure that the present peaceful atmosphere in the country was not “disturbed” in any way.

Reverend Janet Afua Addo, assistant minister in-charge of the Takoradi Trinity Presbyterian Church said women should lead upright lives so that their positive influence would be felt not only in their families, but also in the larger society.

Rev. Addo was preaching at a thanksgiving service to round off the weeklong activities marking the annual cerebration of the Women’s Ministry of the Church at Takoradi on Sunday.

Prayer sessions, health talks, symposium, debates, cleanup exercises and visits to patients of some health institutions were some of the activities organised during the celebration.

She asked women to recognise their complementary roles in the upkeep of the family and urged them not to shirk their responsibilities to enforce discipline among their children, while they themselves become role models in the society.

Rev. Addo urged Christians to pray to God for his guidance and directions to ensure that Ghanaians continue to enjoy peace and harmony before, during and after the upcoming elections.

A set of choir robes donated by a couple of the Church for the junior choir was commissioned. Funds were raised in aid of the ongoing multi-million cedi Women’s Ministry Special Project at Atonkor in the Volta region. 03 May, 04
