Woman stabs relative over 80,000 cedis

Asamankese, July 8, GNA- A circuit court at Asamankese On Tuesday granted a 20-million cedi bail with surety to Veronica Kwabiah, a 20-year-old woman who allegedly stabbed a relative with a knife. The suspect who pleaded guilty to the charges of intentionally and unlawfully causing harm to Philip Antwi will re-appear in court on July 21.

Police Chief Inspector G. D. Bruce told the court, presided over by Mr Kofi Akrowiah that, the suspect and one Philip were relatives living in the same house at Otumi near Kade. The prosecutor said the house was been used as an entertainment spot and that on May 14, this year, a magician rented the spot for 80,000 cedis for a magical show.

Chief Insp. Bruce said at about mid-night two days later, a quarrel ensured between the two relatives over the sharing of the amount. According to the prosecutor, when the two were separated, the accused stabbed Philip in chest with knife. He said the victim was rushed to the St Dominic’s Hospital at Akwatia where he was still on admission.
