Woman found murdered in Tamale forest

Tamale, Nov. 21, GNA – The dead body of a 35-years-old woman has found in one of the forest reserves, near the Northern School of Business in Tamale.

Assistant Superintendent of Police, Mr Ekow Yawson, Northern Regional Police Public Affairs Officer said the woman, Shasarawu Abdul-Rahman was identified by her brother Mr Iddrisu Ahmed Rufia when the police arrived at the scene.

He told the Ghana News Agency in a telephone conversation that a kitchen knife was found near the decease’s body and that the Police Administration was suspecting a foul play.

ASP Yawson said one Nashiru Adam reported the murder of the woman to the Police in the morning of Sunday, Nov. 20.

He said upon the information, some police officers were detailed to go to the forest where they found the deceased dead. He said the deceased had been deposited at the Tamale Regional Hospital for autopsy.
