Woman fined for unsanitary conditions

Nkawie (Ash), July 20, GNA – The Nkawie circuit court on Wednesday imposed a fine of 300,000 cedis on Yaa Addo, a trader of Ntensere for unsanitary conditions in her premises.

She pleaded guilty with explanation and the court, presided over by Mr Noble Nkrumah, bonded her to maintain a clean environment in her premises for at least one year.

Mr Austin Dubick, Public Health Prosecutor of the Atwima-Nwabiagya District Assembly, told the court that on July 7, this year, environmental health officers on their normal routine duties inspected the premises of the accused.

During the inspection, he said the team got dumb founded with the unbelievably unhygienic and filthy environmental conditions under which Yaa Addo lived. 20 July 06
