Asamankese, Sept 16, GNA – Twenty-year-old Veronica Kwabiah, who stabbed a male relative twice with a bread knife, had been fined 600,000 cedis by the Asamankese Circuit Court. In default, she will go to prison for six months. Veronica pleaded guilty to intentionally and unlawfully causing harm to Philip Antwi over the sharing of 80,000 cedis. The court ordered her to pay Philip compensation of 3.5 million cedis to cover his medical bill. Police Chief Inspector G.D. Bruce said Veronica and Philip live in the same house at Otumi and on May 14 a magician rented the spot and paid 80,000.

Two days later a misunderstanding arose between the two relatives over sharing of the amount resulting in a quarrel. The prosecutor said they were separated but Veronica picked a bread knife from her room and stabbed Philip twice.
