Woman donates diabetes-diagnosing equipment

Nkoranza (B/A), June 1, GNA – Madam Afua Pokuaa, a Kumasi-based Businesswoman, at the weekend presented equipment for diagnosing diabetes to the Dromankese Health Centre in the Nkoranza District of the Brong Ahafo Region.

Mr Opoku Borah, Assembly Member for the area, told the Ghana News Agency at Nkoranza about the donation, said the health facility served more than 20 farming communities in the area.

He expressed gratitude to Madam Pokuaa, a Citizen of the town, for the gesture and called on other non-resident citizens to also come to the aid of the centre.

Madam Grace Nimoh, Midwife in-charge, complained about inadequate bed sheets and lack of water, which she said was affecting operations at the Centre.

The Midwife appealed to the community leaders to complete work on the borehole constructed at the Centre to alleviate their plight. Madam Nimoh urged pregnant women to attach great importance to antenatal visits to the clinic to save their lives and that of their babies.

Meanwhile, the people of Dromankese have appealed to the Government to expedite action on the electrification project in the area as the lack of the power supply was affecting the area’s development.
