Akyem-Swedru, April 7, GNA – A suspect, Kwabena Acquah, 40, have been arrested by the Akyem Swedru Police to assist in investigation into the death of his girlfriend.
The deceased, Ama Serwa, 30, was said to have died in Acquah’s room on Monday, April 4, this year at Akyem-Swedru.
A police source told the Ghana News Agency (GNA), that both the deceased and the suspect spent the night together on Sunday. According to the source, the suspect was said to have left the residence early in the morning on Monday to visit a relative at Asawase and on his return later in the day, found Serwa foaming in the mouth and lying dead in the room.
The source said, a post-mortem conducted on the deceased indicated that she was poisoned with DDT and said the police is investigating the case.
