Woman charged with the murder of 25year old man

Tema, Jan 13, GNA – A 36 year old trader, Mary Quaye of Ashaiman was on Monday remanded in custody by a Tema circuit for allegedly murdering Gariba Ahmed Ibrahim, 25 with a kitchen knife at the Ashaiman Asensu drinking bar. Her plea was not taken and she will re-appear in court on February 05. Chief Inspector Adolphus Otchere stated that at about 11:30 am of December 30, last year, a fight ensued between Francis Tetteh, 18, and the deceased who was injured on the left eye brow. He said the deceased threatened to retaliate by throwing an object at Tetteh, but the accused person and her sister madam Doris Quaye who were then at the scene of the fight alleged that the object was aimed at them.

The two sisters therefore confronted the deceased, but they were separated and he (deceased) went and stood in front of his house, which was ten meters away from the two sisters’ house. Chief Inspector Otchere said without any provocation, the accused person who was still bitter pulled a kitchen knife and stabbed the deceased on his right ribs in the presence of witnesses and threatened stabbing him the second time if he dared spoke. But Ibrahim was then bleeding profusely and was rushed to the Tema General Hospital where he was pronounced dead shortly on arrival. The prosecutor said the knife was however retrieved from the accused.
