Woman caught shoplifting

Ho, Aug. 16, GNA – Ms. Georgina Tsekuma, 49, a Technical Officer of the Ministry of Food and Agriculture, was caught on Friday shoplifting at the “Stadium Gate Shopping Centre.” Mr Emmanuel Dogbe, a shop assistant, told the Ghana News Agency that he accosted Ms Tsekuma who had in her lady’s bag tins of sardines, mackerel, tomato paste and biscuits as she was sneaking out of the shop without paying.

He said she pleaded to be allowed to pay for the items and told the shop assistant that that was the first time she engaged in the practice. Mr Dogbe said Ms Tsekuma, who was in the MOFA uniform, readily took money from her purse and paid for the items. Mr Dogbe said Ms Tsekuma, a regular shopper, formed the habit of taking her bag into the shop instead of leaving it with the shop assistants and always kept long in coming out of the shopping area. A visibly angry Dr. Archibald Letsa, owner of the shop, told the He commended the workers for their vigilance and urged them to be extra vigilant to minimize stealing.
