Woman burns Sons hands for stealing 40 pesewas

A 31 -year old – woman, Salamatu Bonsah is in the grips of the Kasoa Division of the Domestic Violence and Victim Support Unit (DOOVSU) for scorching the hands of a six year old boy for stealing 40 Ghana pesewas.

Salamatu scorched both hands of the boy on a red hot burning coal and subjected him to immense whipping for several days.

Mrs. Florence Anaman, head of the Kasoa DOOSVU confirmed the incident to Atinkaonline and added: “Salamatu locked the tormented child indoors for a number of days without taking him to seek a medical attention. It took the intervention of neighbours who reported the issue to police.”

Mrs. Anaman added that, Salamatu will be arraigned before court on Friday.

The poor child is receiving treatment at the hospital.
