Woman before court for an alleged murder

Bekwai(Ash), Feb.01, GNA – An Asante-Bekwai Circuit court has granted a 25-year-old woman, Yaa Bio 10 million cedis bail for allegedly murdering her boyfriend.

The plea of Yaa a mother of three was not taken and would re-appear on February 28.

Police Inspector E.D. Koranteng told the court presided over by Mr Justice Adjei Frimpong that Osei Kwame, the deceased went to Huntado in the Amansie East district on November 25, last year.

He said the deceased, who was a farmer at Ahafo-Ayomso, befriended the accused a few days on arrival at Huntado.

The prosecutor said the deceased contacted his friend, Thomas Karikari to be allowed to spend a night in his (Karikari’s) room with his girlfriend the accused.

Police Inspector Koranteng said Karikari obliged and gave his key to the deceased on November 28 where the accused and the deceased spent the night.

He said, at dawn the following day, Osei was found dead with marks on his body and a report was made to the Anwiankwanta police who arrested Yaa and later conveyed the corpse to the Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital (KATH) for post-mortem. Meanwhile, the docket on the case has been sent to the Attorney General’s Department for advice.
