Woman appeals for help

Berekum, (B/A), Feb. 10, GNA – A 21-year-old unemployed, Afia Agyeiwaa has passionately appealed to public-spirited individuals and benevolent organisations to assist her to pay her hospital bill to enable her leave the premises of the Berekum Holy Family Hospital in the Brong Ahafo Region.

Agyeiwaa who was rushed to the hospital from her hometown, Fetentaa, near Berekum after she collapsed was diagnosed diabetic and hospitalised for 17 days at the hospital.

Agyeiwaa told the GNA at the hospital that she was discharged on January 31, but she could not settle her total bill of 1,117,400.00 cedis to enable her leave the hospital.

Agyeiwaa said she had sent a message to her family about the bill but none of them have responded except her mother who visited her and promised to send her money but failed to come again.

Agyeiwaa said a nurse at the hospital provided her with food and sometimes money whilst some of the in-patients assisted her to buy her needs.

She appealed to the general public to assist her pay the bill so that she could leave the hospital adding that any donations could be channelled through the Holy Family Hospital authorities at Berekum in the Brong Ahafo Region.
