Winneba Police chief urges peaceful Easter celebrations

Winneba (C/R), March 21, GNA – The Winneba Police Commander, Assistant Superintendent of Police (ASP) Jordan Quaye has warned the people in the area to celebrate Easter festivities peacefully and orderly because anybody caught to have breached the peace would be arrested and prosecuted.

He said the era where some youth under the influence of alcohol, misbehaved and caused trouble was over. The Police commander gave the warning in statement to the Press in Winneba on Thursday.

Mr Quaye also warned members of the public who would be trooping to the beaches not to drink before going to swim in order to avoid getting drowned. He appealed to hoteliers to critically examine patrons of their facility in order not to harbour criminals. He said reports reaching his office indicated that some hotels in the area were being used for illicit acts and warned that culprits would be made to face the law. The Police Commander urged drivers not take advantage of the many passengers at the station to speed or overload their vehicles to avoid accident.
