Wife of Asantehene donates to KATH

Kumasi, March 18, GNA – The wife of the Asantehene, Lady Julia Osei Tutu has donated items valued at GH¢4,200.00 in support of the Paediatric Department of the Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital (KATH) and Child Welfare Centre (CWC).

The gifts included bed sheets, television set, ceiling fans, baby diapers, kettles and rice boiler. She additionally pledged to provide the children’s ward of the (CWC) with a generator.

Lady Tutu made the donation when she visited the hospital and the centre to interact with the health professionals. She appealed to the health personnel to be more humane and treat patients with dignity and respect.

They should do everything to give the best of care to, especially sick children, brought to the facilities. Lady Julia has special concern for the growth and development of children and has therefore set up the 93Serwaa Ampem Foundation” to support vulnerable children through education and medical care. Professor Ohene Adjei, Chief Executive Officer of KATH, expressed gratitude for the donation.

He said inadequate space and equipment such as thermometers, radiant heaters and incubators were some of the major constraints of the medical facility.
