Wielder in court for defrauding a woman

Cape Coast, Feb 15, GNA – A circuit court at Cape Coast on Monday remanded Robert Slippe, a 48-year-old wielder, for defrauding one Madam Naomi Benyi of 2.5 million cedis.

Slippe pleaded guilty and will reappear on Monday 28 February. Prosecuting, Chief Inspector Hope Azasoo told the court that in June last, Madam Benyi asked Slippe to make a container for her and he charged 2.5 million cedis.

He said after receiving the money Slippe went into hiding and was not seen until February.

Slippe admitted collecting the money from the woman but explained that it was Madam Benyi who asked him to hold on since she did not have a place to keep the container. 15 Feb 05
