The Crusading says Deputy Minister of Defence, Dr Tony Aidoo, has managed an answer to the bizarre story of President Rawlings’ gimmick of openly pricking his flesh with a sharp object to draw blood, which he used to sign a copy of the NDC’s manifesto bought for 160 million cedis.
Dr Aidoo, in what is captured as the paper’s banner story, had stated during an Accra Joy FM radio interview, ‘Frontpage’, that President Rawlings’ act represented a romantic and sentimental orientation as well as an expression of commitment to the NDC Party. “It means a romantic orientation, it means an expression of commitment. You must ask the President, I think you should be asking him this question,” he was quoted as having said in answer to a question from host, Kweku Sakyi Addo, that inquired of the significance of the President’s action.
Dr Aidoo, had stated, according to the story, that those asking moral questions relating the 160 million cedis dished out to purchase a copy of the party’s manifesto should do the same about the NPP’s 5 billion-cedi generation, as well as the 500 million-cedi congress of the Reform Party.
