Whoever divorces partner because of adultery is not matured – ICGC Pastor

The Head Pastor of ICGC Paraku Estate in Accra, Stephen Yedu Padmore, has said any husband or wife who leaves his or her marriage because the other partner has committed adultery is immature for marriage.

According to him, such a person shouldn’t have ever thought of getting married as the person is not fit to enter into the institution of marriage, adding that his position on the subject is based on principles of scripture.

The Bible in Matthew 5:32, outlines the basis on which a man can divorce his wife which include sexual immorality or adultery but Pastor Yedu Padmore appears to have a different thought on the matter.

Speaking on Kasapa FM’s Afisem programme on Saturday, the man of God stated that people should go into marriage having in mind that their spouses are not saints or angels and as a result may fall victim to sexual immorality.

“Even there are risks in entering into an agreement with angels. Are they not angels who descended from Heaven onto the earth and refuse to leave the earth simply because they had seen beautiful ladies? I’m not saying spouses should involve themselves in sexual outside marriage, but all I’m saying is that some of these things happen in marriage and all should bear it in mind before entering into marriage.”

He added: “Marriage is a risk because you don’t marry God but man; we all know that every human being is susceptible to sin.”
