What About Clothes? Recycle Them

The Foundation for Female Photojournalists (FFP) in collaboration with the Women Commission of GIJ and the Congolese Alliance of Ghana has collected clothes for distribution to the needy.

The clothes were distributed in one of the villages in Amasaman. In all about 500 pieces of cloths were shared. The clothes which ranged from causal, formal and farming ware were distributed to children, females and males.

The project dubbed,? What About Clothes? Recycle Them?, is one of the Foundations numerous projects.

The Executive Director of the Foundation Ms. Mardey Ohui Ofoe said the essence of this charity project is to support underprivileged women and children in the various villages in Ghana, adding that one unique aspect of this project is the relationship the Foundation would establish with the villages to involve them in its development photo documentaries.

Ms. Ofoe said the project is organised three times in a year and appealled to the public and clothing companies in Ghana to support by donating clothes.

Ms Ofoe expressed her sincere thanks to students of GIJ, members of the Congolese?s Alliance of Ghana and the staff, volunteers of FFP and some individuals for donating clothes for the project.

She also thanked Mr Peri Combo a native from Amasaman for his support and cooperation during the sharing of the clothes.

The General Secretary of the Congolese Alliance of Ghana, Emygel Bouakou said he was happy to represent his people at the village. He noted that the students from Congo are willing to make their contributions to support the needy in any way they can.

The people of the village expressed their joy for the clothes shared and wished the Foundation success in its projects.
