Western Union draws for World Cup promotion

Accra, June 23, GNA – Management of Western Union Money Transfer, the global leader in consumer money transfer services on Wednesday held a draw in Accra to reward its loyal customers.

The promotion is to build up excitement towards the on-going 2010 FIFA World Cup Tournament in South Africa from June 11 to July 11, this year. As part of the promotion four customers; Mr Richmond Osei Amoateng, a resident of Kumasi, Mr Issa Haku Mohammed, resident of Tamale, Mr Musa Yakubu, resident of Accra and Madam Akosua Owusuaa, a resident of Amasu in Northern Region have won all expenses paid trip to South Africa. The nation-wide promotion which started on May 17, to June 23, also rewarded 30 customers with Plasma television sets while 500 other people won T-shirts and base ball cups.

Mr George Mensah Asante, Head of Retail Banking Ecobank Ghana, speaking at the draw said the promotion among similar packages, reaffirmed Western Union’s commitment to give back to society in recognition of its loyal customers.

He said “the only qualification to be part of the promotion was that one needed to just receive money from abroad through any Western Union agent nation-wide and fill a coupon”.

Mr Asante said the promotion was one of the numerous projects initiated by the management which sought to connect subscribers to share the excitement of football.

He said: “This promotion demonstrates the company’s leadership in the industry and our resolve to build strong relationship with our cherished customers, as we continue to provide them with better and reliable service”. 23 June 10
