Western Region to get 1 District hospital, 5 Polyclinics – Ministry of Health

The minister of health Mr Kwaku Agyeman-Manu has stated categorically that the Western Region is to receive 1 district hospital and 5 polyclinics.

Taking his turn at the meet the press series organised on Thursday, November 23, 2017, under the auspices of the Information Ministry, the health minister said Orio, the sponsor country, will provide 35 percent grant of the project.

He said the ministry is to construct “1 district hospital and 5 polyclinics in the Western Region. The project received approval from Orio who is providing a 35% grant”.

Orio according to the minister has approved the evaluation process and has given the no-objection for the ministry to sign the contract with the winning firm.

The project is to upgrade six existing primary healthcare facilities in six marginalized, rural districts in the Western region of Ghana.

The locations include Akontombra, Elubo, Bogoso, Nsuaem, Wassa Dunkwa, and Mpohor.
