Ayanfuri (W/R), Feb. 16, GNA – Mr. Mike Hammah, Minister of Transpor= t, has commended the workers and management of the Ghana Railway company Limited for working hard to restore the Western rail lines. He said that the ongoing rehabilitation of the rail lines was as a result of government’s support for the company to ensure re-alignment of rail lines, clearing of weeds along rails lines, replacement of worn-out slippers among others.
Mr. Hammah called for the re-activation of the company to enable it to improve upon its internal fund generation and win the confidence of its major stakeholders. He appealed to management to work hard and transform the company. Dr. Clement Hammah, Board Chairman, said the company needed massive financial investment and constant rehabilitation of rail lines to enable it work effectively.
He called on the company to motivate the workers to give off their best.
