Western Queen project to promote talents in WR – Consultant

Takoradi, July 29 GNA – Mr Charles N. D. Cobbina, Managing Consultant of Total Marketing, a non-governmental organisation has said the Western Queen project would promote talents, skills and tourists attractions in the Western Region.

The project, which is aimed at encouraging young female indigenes, aged between 18 and 25 years and senior secondary school leavers to worked or stayed in the region for a period.

Mr Cobbina speaking in Takoradi on Thursday said the project would focus on assisting participants to develop their confidence, while supporting the development of the region.

He said the participants would undertaken a year’s project work on Girl Child Education, Child Trafficking and Tourism Promotion in any district in the region as part of their programmes.

Mrs Efua Wood, Project Coordinator, said the project also aimed at making the region, a symbol of hope for the youth.

She stated that the excessive concentration of activities by organisations in Accra should change to enable the youth in other parts of the country to get involved in development.

Mrs Wood appealed to individuals, organisations to support the project.
