Asamankese, Nov. 01, GNA – Mr D. S. Owusu, Presiding Member of West Akim District Assembly was on Monday re-elected during its inauguration at Asamankese.
Mr Owusu the sole candidate polled 64 votes with four against. He expressed appreciation to the members for the confidence reposed in him and called for co-operation and unity from members to accelerate the development of the district.
Mr Owusu pointed out that members had the onerous duty to improve the living standards of the people with more attention on sanitation. He called on them to undertake tree planting exercise within their communities to serve as windbreak to protect their houses, purify the air and protect water bodies.
