Wereko-Brobby: I am still a member of the NPP

A founding Member of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Dr. Charles Wereko Brobby, has said that he is a loyal and a card bearing member of the New Patriotic Party which he helped to found.

According to him, he will never exempt himself from the party as claimed by General Secretary, Kwadwo Owusu Afriyie that he is not a member.

“I can never say I am not a member of the NPP. I will never flee from the party, never! Some of them are rather saying I am not part of the party, but that is impossible. Those saying I’m not a member should tell me their standing in the party and what success they have been able to chop for the party,” he stated.

Dr. Wereko Brobby on Thursday released a press statement titled, “On the face of the pink sheets or at the heart of the matter” in which he scolded the petitioners in the ongoing 2012 Presidential Election Petition for using Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia whom he described as a “clueless witness” to prosecute their case.

Reacting on Asempa FM, Sir John said Dr. Wereko-Brobby has ceased to be a member of the NPP and because he was ashamed of the disgrace that awaits him following his criticism of the decision of the party to opt for the election petition, coupled with the revelations coming up at the hearing, had resorted to his press statements to belittle the NPP’s efforts.

On the same platform, Tarzan sought to find out from the party’s General Secretary whether he and other party members castigating his press release and claiming he is not part of the party even pay their dues.

“Some of these small boys don’t even pay their dues but keep talking anyhow,” he said.

He, however, cautioned the NPP to be truthful if they want to win the 2016 presidential election and start campaigning now.
