Wereko-Brobbey to NPP: ‘Shut up’ and listen to Nana Addo

Former Chief Executive Officer of the Volta River Authority (VRA) Dr. Charles Wereko-Brobbey has asked members of the opposition New Patriotic Party to “shut up” and kowtow to the authority of flagbearer Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo.

According to him, following the orders of the party’s flagbearer is a panacea for peace and unity which has eluded the Elephant family over the last few weeks.

“Nana Addo has been elected Presidential candidate of the NPP, everybody else should shut up and just do what Nana Addo says.

“That is what the established democracies do…the only thing the NPP must focus on is how to convince Ghanaians that in Nana Addo we have somebody who presents an alternative that would be better for you,” Dr. Wereko-Brobbey told Morning Starr host Nii Arday Clegg Tuesday.

The NPP has been struggling to resolve internal wrangling that has bedeviled the party in the last few months.

Party Chairman Paul Afoko and General Secretary Kwabena Agyepong have been at the centre of raging controversy in the party.

The party’s council of elders last week requested Afoko to step aside, a move which has angered the majority of party executives across the country.
