Wereko-Brobbey is not NPP – Karbo

A Deputy Communications Director of the New Patriotic Party Anthony Karbo has said he doubts the loyalty of Dr. Charles Wereko-Brobbey to the party.

According to him, recent comments of the suspended party elder gives cause for concern.

The National Executive Committee (NEC) of the NPP suspended the former head of the Volta River Authority (VRA) in October 2013 after he openly criticised the party’s decision to challenge the results of the 2012 presidential elections in court.

In suspension, Dr. Wereko Brobbey has continued to attack decisions by the leadership of the party. He has asked the party to extend his suspension following the rancor that has erupted in its ranks after the suspension of Paul Afoko as the national chairman.

Speaking to Fiifi Banson on Kasapa FM on Thursday, Karbo said the party no longer take the views of the renowned engineer seriously.

“I will not respond to comments by Dr. Wereko Brobbey because he has been suspended by the party. It’s interesting that he is always hyping negative vibes about the party; he can’t be a member, he is not. He has insulted, ridiculed and attacked decisions by the party leadership, the same party that has made him who he is,” the former national youth organiser of the NPP said.
