We’re happy about Allied Health nurses clearance – Tina Mensah

The deputy Minister of Health, Tina Mensah has expressed delight at the ministry’s ability to secure clearance for the over 400 unposted Allied Health Nurses picketing at the Ministry to be posted.

She also called for calm among the thousands yet to be posted assuring that it is government’s duty to get them posted and that will be done.
The deputy Minister Tuesday evening announced to the nurses that the Finance Ministry had okayed their clearance.

She flaunted the documents containing the signature of the Finance Minister before the frustrated health workers igniting sudden excitement and wild jubilation.

It was the second time they are picketing at the premises of the health ministry before getting clearance to be posted.

Commenting on the recent development on Morning Starr Wednesday, Ms Mensah said there are a lot of trainee nurses waiting to be posted and that the ministry has been working on their clearance to facilitate their postings.
“The nursing trainees did not have to picket to get them cleared because we are on it,” she told Morning Starr host Francis Abban.

She added: “We have been getting gradual clearance. It is not about them picketing. It is our business to get them posted.”
