Wenchi Taxi drivers commend radio station for programme

Wenchi (B/A) Jan. 4, GNA – Mr. Alex Kwadwo Opoku, Chairman of Wenchi Taxi Drivers Union branch of the Ghana Private Road Transport Union has commended management of Royals FM radio station for its programme, “Okwanso Kosekose”, which educated the programme educated both drivers and passengers on their roles in the transport sector.

He advised drivers to be very cautious on the road to prevent accidents, loss of lives and urged transport owners to ensure regular maintenance of their vehicles. The Chairman appealed to transport owners to ensure their vehicles were covered by the relevant documents including insurance and income tax certificates.

Mr. Opoku urged drivers to adhere to traffic regulations and deplored the attitude of some drivers who ignore the rights of pedestrians as road users. The Chairman advised drivers against alcoholism, over-speeding, over-loading and unnecessary over-taking. He asked them to have sufficient sleep and rest to enable them have the needed strength to work.
