Wenchi gets a Disabled Centre

Wenchi (B/A) Jan. 15,GNA – A craft training centre christened “Young City”, has been established at Wenchi in the Brong-Ahafo Region to assist persons with disabilities to learn vocations.

The Centre was set up by Rural Youth Association of Ghana, an NGO, to help the Disabled quest for a dignified life.

Madam Theresa Nyarko-Fofie, Executive Officer of the NGO, and a former Member of Parliament for Nkoranza, told the Ghana News Agency (GNA) at Wenchi the centre offered free tuition and accommodation to trainees.

She said parents of trainees would only be responsible for their feeding.

The centre offers training in carpentry, batik, tie and dye printing, dress-making, hairdressing, bead-making, lathe machine operation and baking.
