Wenchi Assembly confirms President’s nominee

Wenchi (B/A), July 6, GNA – The Wenchi District Assembly has unanimously confirmed Mrs Bintu Ibrahim Farizana, a 37 year old tutor of the Ahmadiyya Secondary School in Kumasi as the District Chief Executive.

She polled 83.9 per cent of the votes cast by the in the exercise supervised by officials of the Electoral Commission. Nana Kwadwo Seinti, Brong Ahafo Regional Minister, urged the people to co-operate with the new DCE to ensure the rapid socio-economic development of the District.

He appealed to the Assembly Members to assist her to discharge her duties effectively.

Mrs Farizana commended the members for endorsing her nomination and re-affirmed her determination to ensure the progress of the area. Mr Justice Frank Amoah, High Court judge, swore in Mr Badu Yeboah as the Presiding Member.
