Wenchi and Tain districts exceed immunization targets

Wenchi (B/A), May 5, GNA – The Wenchi and Tain districts in Brong Ahafo exceeded their immunization targets, achieving 104.7 per cent and 109.6 per cent respectively in the recent immunization exercise. A total of 22,424 above a target of 21,401 children under five years were immunized in the Wenchi District while the Tain District rose above its target of 21,762 with the coverage of 23,194 immunized children.

Dr Peter Asare, District Director of Health Services at Wenchi in an interview with the Ghana News Agency commended the two District Assemblies for mobilizing vehicles, financial and moral support and volunteers for the exercise.

He thanked the Assemblies, the communities, stakeholders and the volunteers who in diverse ways assisted the District Health Directorate. Nana Owusu Afriyie, District Disease Control Officer, said the two districts did not run short of vaccines during the exercise.
