We’ll win fraud case in court -Akufo-Addo

…Akufo-Addo speaks on facebook

Nana Akufo-Addo has urged followers of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) to remain optimistic and stay calm as lawyers of the party prepare to go to court to challenge the electoral results.

In a brief address to party supporters on his facebook page on Wednesday, Akufo-Addo disclosed that the leadership of the party has found ample evidence to prove its case in court.

The Electoral Commission (EC) a few weeks ago declared John Dramani Mahama as winner of the presidential elections held on December 7, 2012.

But the NPP has fiercely contested the results and accused the EC of conniving with the National Democratic Congress to rig the elections.

Below is the full statement on his facebook page

Thank you all for your messages of encouragement. I am truly overwhelmed by the love from the people of Ghana and their belief in our democratic values and institutions.

As our lawyers prepare to go to court with the overwhelming evidence of systematic electoral fraud our team has discovered around the country, I urge you all to be calm and patient.

I suggest that as we patiently wait for our lawyers to file the petition, we should pray that the good Lord will continue to let peace reign in Ghana and that he will give the justices of the Supreme Court, the wisdom and courage to continue to protect our country’s democratic values.

Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo
