We’ll continue to circulate Sly’s presidential Posters – Group

Barely 24-hours after a former Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the National Health Insurance Authority (NHIA) Sylvester Mensah disclosed that he was unaware of presidential campaign posters making the rounds and calling the public to disregard them, the group behind the posters has come public.

The group calling itself Believers in Sly (BIS) comprising members of the NDC insists Sylvester Mensah, is their preferred Presidential Candidate for 2020 having served as their role model and mentor.

“He explains in his statement that he did not authorize the circulation of his poster and resume. We are glad he didn’t say he’s not interested in leading the party. Indeed we didn’t require his permission in matters we believe would advance the fortunes of our dear party. While we agree that the focus now should be on rebuilding the structures of the party, we also believe that our voice must be heard in the determination of the next leader of our dear party”

According to them in a release signed by six of its executives, it will not cease circulating posters of the former CEO of NHIA until he comes clear to inform them he is not interested in running as a presidential candidate when the party opens for nominations in the future.

“Until Hon. Sylvester Mensah categorically affirms his disinterest in the leadership of the party in 2020, we shall continue to promote him as our choice for the future of the party. He was publicly investigated without a single blemish or wrong doing. We have had the opportunity to read a court order and a formal letter exonerating him.

A true example of our values of probity and accountability he remains the NDC’s hope for victory in 2020. We advise all like minds and Believers in Sly to continue promoting the good cause until the time comes for choosing a new leader.”
