Weather forecast for Election Day

Accra, Dec. 5, GNA – Slight pressure increases over the West African sub-region will likely enhance the import of dry winds from the north over Northern Ghana, Brong Ahafo and northern Volta Regions on Sunday.

The Ghana Meteorological Agency said in its weather forecast for Election Day released on Friday, said the area extending from Ashanti Region, mid-Volta and Western Regions to the coast would, however, he under the influence of shallow moisture laden with winds. It said the situation would favour dry, warm and slightly hazy conditions over the Upper East, Upper West, Brong Ahafo and northern Volta Regions.

“Much of the area from Ashanti, mid-Volta, mid-Western regions extending to the coastal districts will remain cloudy in the morning, becoming warm and sunny in the afternoon.”

It said between noon and evening, pockets of light or moderate showers will occur over the coast of Western Region covering Axim, Takoradi and extending inland to central portions including Jomoro, Bogoso and Prestea areas.

It will also cover the coast and central portions of Central and Volta regions, Northern parts of Greater Accra covering Pokoase and Amasaman areas and the lower half of Eastern and Ashanti Regions.
