The majority side of parliament on Thursday took a swipe at the Minority over its speculated decision to be part of the presentation of the 2013 budget on Tuesday March 5.
The minority has boycotted all activities associated with the president whose legitimacy the caucus’s 2012 flagbearer, Nana Akufo-Addo is challenging at the Supreme Court.
The majority say they find it contradictory for the minority to be part of the budget presentation.
Majority MPs for Ketu North James Avedzi and Ayawaso North Dr. Mustapha Ahmed chided the minority, saying they cannot be part of the budget debate since the minister was nominated by President Mahama.
“If they have nothing to do with the president then they should not do anything with the budget statement,” Mr Avedzi said.
But deputy Minority Leader, Dominic Nitiwul, said they will make their decision whether to be part of the budget presentation on Monday.
Mr Nitiwul said “we will take the issues one by one, we have not availed ourselves to the vetting of ministers, and we have also not availed ourselves to the State of the Nation address but on Monday we will officially communicate to the world our position with regards to the budget and the debate”.
