We will win 2016 elections to shame our detractors – Afoko

Beleaguered National Chairman of the opposition New Patriotic Party (NPP) Paul Afoko has said he will shame his detractors by securing power for the party in next year’s elections.

Afoko has been accused by some party members of masterminding the killing of its Upper East regional chairman Adams Mahama.

Mr Mahama died at the Bolgatanga hospital Thursday after he was showered with acid by some unknown individuals.

One person has so far been arrested in connection with the matter.

Reacting to the accusations, Mr Afoko said he and the general secretary Kwabena Agyepong will ensure that justice is brought to the family of the deceased.

“I’m saying to you all NPP patriotic citizens to stand firm, stand firm and work with me and Kwabena.

“The party is supreme, the law will take its cause. Whoever is found culpable will be dealt with by the law. We remain steadfast, we will do that which is right for the party.

“And I can assure you, at the end of the day victory will be ours, the party will see power next year and all our detractors will be put to shame. Let’s stand firm,” he stated on Kasapa FM Friday.
