Asante Kotoko have issued an emotional message to their supporters following their heavy 5-1 defeat to Wydad Athletic Club in Morocco, which ended their CAF Confederation Cup campaign.
In an official statement released on Saturday, October 25, 2025, and signed by Communications Manager Nana Apinkra Akwasi Awuah, the club acknowledged the pain of the loss but urged fans to stay united and hopeful as the team looks to bounce back.
“The result against Wydad Athletic Club was not what we wanted or worked for. The disappointment is shared by every member of the team, management, and our true supporters,” the statement read.
Kotoko described the setback as “a setup for a comeback,” assuring fans that the team remains focused and determined to return stronger.
“Now, more than ever, we need you. Your voice is our 12th player, and your presence is our fuel,” the club appealed. “We call on every Porcupine Warrior to fill the stands in our upcoming matches. Let us unite as one force, wear the red colours with pride, and roar the team to victory.”
Despite their continental exit, the club’s message was filled with optimism and gratitude, ending with the rallying cry:
“Together, we will rise again.”
The Porcupine Warriors now turn their attention to the Ghana Premier League and FA Cup, with hopes of restoring pride and repaying their loyal supporters.
