We will hold you accountable over your 170 promises – Amissah-Arthur to NPP

Former Vice President, Paa Kwesi Amissah-Arthur has called on the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP) to fulfil its 170 promises made to Ghanaians during the campaign period in 2016. Ghanaian voters he noted must hold government accountable to its promises.

The former leader was addressing a charged crowd at the Ashaiman Mandela park in Accra.

“The NDC must continue to champion the agenda of the people of this country and this agenda is simple. We have to protect the interest of our people. We have to ensure that the NPP government meets all the promises that they made. I have been told that they have made 170 promises.They have to ensure that all those 170 promises are fulfilled so the people of Ghana can also benefit from the work that they came to do.’’

He used the opportunity to call for unity within the rank and file of the party .He said, “the 2016 election is over and it is important for us to move on because the agenda of the Ghanaian people is important.

We must unite our people so that we can work together combining all strengths and attributes of the people in the NDC so that we can work for the good of this country.”

The NDC led by former President John Dramani Mahama lost the polls to rival, President Nana Akufo-Addo who polled 5,697,093 votes representing 53.80 percent whereas Mr. Mahama polled 4,701,162 representing 44.40 percent.
