Asante Kotoko midfielder Emmanuel Antwi has issued a bold message of confidence ahead of their crucial CAF Confederation Cup clash against Moroccan giants Wydad Casablanca.
Speaking ahead of Sunday’s showdown at the Accra Sports Stadium, Antwi kept his message short but powerful: “We will deliver.”
The Porcupine Warriors are aiming to make a strong statement on the continental stage after being forced to host the match in Accra, following CAF’s rejection of the Baba Yara Stadium due to facility concerns.
Despite the setback, Antwi believes Kotoko are fully prepared to rise to the occasion.
“We know what is at stake. The fans deserve the best, and we have worked very hard for this moment,” he said. “Wydad are a big team, but Kotoko is also a big club. We will give everything.”
Kotoko booked their place in the second preliminary round after eliminating Nigeria’s Kwara United with an impressive 5-3 aggregate victory.
Wydad, one of Africa’s most successful clubs, present a major challenge, but the Ghanaian side insist they are ready to match them in intensity, belief, and quality.
With passionate home support expected in Accra, Kotoko will be hoping to secure a first-leg advantage before travelling to Morocco.
For Emmanuel Antwi, there is no room for doubt, only determination.
