We will campaign in 2020 on the track record of Mahama – Ofosu Ampofo

Director of Elections of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) and National Vice Chairman of the party Samuel Ofosu Ampofo, has stated that the party will heavily rely on the track record of former president John Dramani Mahama during its campaigns in 2020.

He has therefore advised members who are throwing mud at the 2016 former flagbearer of the party to tone down on their attacks lest they bury the entire party by providing ammunition to the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP).

Mr Ofosu Ampofo bemoaned the incessant attacks on the former president without recourse to his status calling on the rank and file of the party to endeavour to show some level of respect to the statesman who has led the party before.

He is of conviction that the NDC cannot win political power without the enviable records of former President Mahama who he said performed creditably during his tenure.

“For me, I think that he has a very solid record upon which NDC can campaign on its quest to regain power come 2020” he stated on Peace Fm

The Vice Chair called for hierarchical discipline to put an end to the current turmoil within the rank and file of the executives across all levels.

“I will urge polling stations executives to show respect to their constituency executives. The constituency executives show respect to regional their regional executives and regional executives should also respect national executives. In totality we should respect ourselves and the former President”

The director of elections therefore called for sanctions to be applied against members whose actions and inactions will bring the name of the party into disrepute.
