We will beef-up security at flashpoint – District Commander

Ada-Foah (GA), Dec. 6, GNA – The Dangme East District Taskforce has Identify some flashpoints or problematic areas and it was preparing to beef-up security during this year’s general elections. District Commander of Police, ASP Kwabena Authur, said the Dangme East District has Ada and Sege Constituencies and 112 polling stations. ASP. Authur said the Taskforce would place more than two policemen at some flashpoints or the violent-prone areas that it has identified ahead of Sunday’s general elections.

He also said there would be a standby force at the District Police Headquarters to respond to emergencies that may arise. ASP. Authur disclosed this to the Ghana News Agency (GNA) after a closed-door meeting chaired by the Tema Regional Commander, DCOP John Kudalor held at Ada-Foah with other security agencies like The Bureau of National Investigation (BNI), Ghana National Fire Service, representatives of the various political parties and some staff of the Electoral Commission.

Asp Authur urged party agents to make good use of the challenge forms provided by the Electoral Commission to make the elections violent-free and fair one.
