Black Queens head coach Kim Lars Björkegren says his side is fully focused on completing the job when they face Egypt in the second leg of their 2026 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON) qualifier on Tuesday in Accra.
Ghana head into the return fixture with a commanding 3-0 advantage from the first leg in Ismailia, where goals from Doris Boaduwaa and Mary Amponsah inspired a dominant display.
Speaking ahead of the decisive tie, Björkegren expressed confidence in his team’s readiness and hunger to maintain their winning momentum.
“We want to do everything we can to win the second game as well,” the Swedish tactician said. “It’s important to keep our focus and continue building on the strong performance we showed in Egypt.”
The Queens resumed training on Monday after briefly halting preparations over unpaid bonuses from their 2024 WAFCON campaign. However, following mediation from the Ghana Football Association (GFA), the players agreed to return to camp.
With qualification to the 2026 WAFCON in Morocco at stake, Björkegren believes Ghana’s professionalism and fighting spirit will see them through.
The match is set for Tuesday, October 28, at the Accra Sports Stadium, where the Black Queens will look to seal their place at next year’s continental showpiece.
