We regret working for NPP – Delta Force members

The eight Delta Force members who were remanded into prisons custody for storming the KMA Circuit Court to free other members who were standing trial say they regret working for the New Patriotic Party (NPP).

A Circuit Court presided by Mrs. Patricia Amponsah denied bail to the eight members of the vigilante group affiliated to NPP for storming the KMA Court last Thursday attacking the court and destroying property.

Lead lawyer counsel for the suspects, Lawyer Matthew Appiah told Kumasi-based Nhyira FM that his clients feel sad and disturbed where they have found themselves now.

“These boys are just working for the NPP. They provide security to big men and women in the party. They are not criminals as people may think” Lawyer Appiah maintained.

“They feel that their party is in power and taught they should be given jobs to do. Even though some are responsible family persons others too are working as mechanic,” he stated

According to the lawyer, executives of the party are giving their unflinching support in cash and in other forms to ensure justice is delivered.

“The party has not deserted them to hire lawyers like myself to defend them though some think they did not do well to storm the court to free members”

Lawyer Matthew Appiah denied ever assuring other members who were first sent to the court for attacking the Regional Security Coordinator they will be granted bail.

“How can you tell a client that he/she will be freed in court while the law lies on the bosom of the trail judge. As a lead counsel from day one, am not aware of such agreement”
