The GN Research group under Groupe Nduom has indicated that they never projected Nana Akufo-Addo as winner in the December 7 general elections.
According to them, they were misquoted by some media houses as having stated that results from polls conducted by their research team revealed 51% of Ghanaians expressed confidence in Nana Akufo-Addo as the best candidate to address unemployment, health and educational issues in the country when voted as President.
In a statement signed by the General Manager of the group, Samuel Kofi Ampah, he indicated that the Media Analysis and Public Opinion Survey report released a few days ago is but a mere media sham.
He stated that contrary to a November 24, 2016 publication by the Daily Guide newspaper indicating that “the polls conducted by GN Research revealed 51% of Ghanaians were confident that the flagbearer of the NPP is the best candidate to address unemployment, health and educational issues in the country when voted as president” , the actual report from the GN research team said “ Three major expectations to be addressed by the next leader are jobs (51%) education, (32%) and health care, (28%).
The best candidate that can address these expectations according to respondents were Nana Akufo-Addo or Dr. Papa kwesi Nduom”.
He maintained that the survey though was originally conducted to ascertain citizens’ perceptions about the media as well as their level of satisfaction with regards to how political issues are handled by the media, it also had respondents listing their expectations for the next 4 years and which Presidential Candidate they perceived could meet those expectations.
Jobs, education and health care were among the listed expectations of respondents who per their responses indicated Nana Akufo-Addo and Dr. Papa Kwesi Nduom as the best candidates who can address the expectations.
The statement added that the survey report released is a clear indication of a polarized media system where some media houses only resort to propagating “half-truth” or “blatant lies”
