The leader of the Progressive People’s Party (PPP) Dr Papa Kwesi Nduom believes the erratic power supply in Ghana has done more damage, and even if it is solved Ghanaians will find it difficult to forget.
Ghana is currently shedding between 400 and 700 Megawatts of power during off-peak and peak periods, respectively. The crisis has come about as a result of poor water levels in the three hydropower stations.
The crisis is taking a toll on Industry, businesses and domestic consumers.
Dr Nduom said in his Easter message: “There is a death that has occurred often in our land in recent times called “dum”. No matter when finally lights come on and stay on, this death has already done damage to our homes, factories and our very lives. As a famous singer put it, “The thrill is gone.
“We must swear not to forget “dum” and those who put us there.
“Yes, there will be life after “dum”. Easter gives us hope. Competent, caring and resourceful leadership will get us there. We the people need a new beginning, something new and different.”
