Nigeria’s Super Falcons head coach, Justin Madugu, says his side is fully prepared for all possible scenarios ahead of the Women’s Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON) final clash against host nation Morocco.
Speaking at a pre-match press conference, Madugu struck a confident yet cautious tone, emphasising the importance of preparation, adaptability, and experience going into Today’s high-stakes encounter.
“We know it’s not just going to be about going out on the pitch and playing; we must prepare for every scenario. We are fully aware of that. Experience has taught us many things,” he told reporters.
The Super Falcons, Africa’s most decorated women’s football team, are eyeing a record-extending 10th WAFCON title. But standing in their way is a determined Moroccan side buoyed by home support and a hunger for revenge, having fallen to Nigeria in previous tournaments.
Madugu, whose team eliminated Zambia with a resounding 5-0 win in the semi-final, said the squad has matured throughout the competition and is ready to adapt to the unpredictable nature of finals football.
“This is not a stage you come to without learning from the journey. We’ve been tested and we’ve grown,” he said.
The final, set for this evening at the Larbi Zaouli Stadium in Casablanca, promises to be a pulsating encounter as two of the continent’s top sides battle for continental glory.
Kick-off is scheduled for 7:00 PM Ghana local time.
