Nana Aning Yeboah Asuamah, the Chief of Kobedi No. 1 near Sunyani, who also serves as the Akyeremade Adontenhene and resides in the United States of America, has unveiled plans to unite with all Aboabo residents living abroad to provide support to their communities, namely Aboabo No. 1 to No. 4, and the surrounding areas to foster growth and development.
Nana made this statement during a modest ceremony held at the Aboabo No. 3&4 Presbyterian Church near Dormaa Ahenkro, organized by his sister and her husband, both residing in the United States and their families, to distribute clothing and headgear to over 300 widows, along with pairs of shoes and other items to more than 50 orphans in the Aboabo communities.
Nana Aning Yeboah Asuamah emphasized that, as a native of Dormaa Aboabo No. 4 who has had the opportunity to live in the USA, he and his sister and her husband decided to extend support to these widows and orphans to alleviate their struggles. He stressed that hardship sometimes compels the youth to adopt unscrupulous lifestyles, hence it is crucial to assist those in need during their school going days to ensure they complete their education and become valuable members of the community in the future.
He further stated that they have plans to construct schools and hospitals for the Aboabo communities to enhance their quality of life and contribute to the overall development of the communities.
Mrs. Joycelyn Pokuaa, alongside her husband, Mr. Kofi Aning, addressing newsmen following their donation, expressed that their endeavor was inspired by biblical teachings because the Bible advocates for the care of widows and orphans as a fundamental element of genuine worship and a testament of faith.
Mrs. Joycelyn underscored their awareness of the financial hardships they faced prior to relocating to the United States, which compelled them to give back to the communities where they were raised before emigrating. She further asserted that this initiative would not be a singular occurrence, as they intend to extend their support annually to widows, the impoverished, and the needy, ensuring they too experience comfort.
The caretaker of the Aboabo No. 3&4 Presby Church, Catchiest Kumi Acheaw, along with the beneficiaries, conveyed their heartfelt gratitude to the couple and their families for their unwavering support during challenging times. Catchiest Kumi Acheaw offered prayers for prosperity and longevity for the couple and their families, so they may continue to provide steadfast assistance to the widows and orphans within the Aboabo communities, thereby ensuring financial relief and bringing joy to their lives.
